Hive Minds Therapy provides Person-Centred Counselling utilising Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Solutions Focussed Therapy

Nearly 1 in 5 Australians between the age of 16-85 years will experience a significant mental health challenge every year (Australian Institute of Health & Welfare, April 2024).

This can manifest through anger issues, anxiety, substance abuse, family conflict, relationship difficulties, grief & loss, trauma, depression, issues of identity & purpose, during major life changes or consequences arising from serious illness for oneself or someone close to you.

There is transformative power in therapeutic counselling, a professional avenue for developing personal resilience, finding meaning & purpose, undergoing growth and fostering emotional well-being. Offering expert guidance tailored to your individual needs, ensuring a supportive environment for healing and positive change by integrating Humanistic therapeutic modalities, Mind-Body somatic regulation strategies & Meditation.

Operating from Tarndanya / Adelaide, South Australia, Hive Minds Therapy is a Neurodiversity-Affirming practice, with Lived Experience, and incorporating a Geek Therapy (™) Affinity-Based Approach in support of the ADHD / Autism Culture Community.

Person Centered Counselling

The Person Centred Approach seeks to anchor the position that you are the expert in your own life, that you can discover your own answers through guided self-exploration. The role of Counselling support is to be curious but non-mechanistic, ensuring autonomy, withholding judgement, and demonstrating unconditional acceptance.

Therapeutic Approach

Narrative Therapy - validating your story, in your words as a means of healing.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy - support your inherent capacity to adapt to difficult circumstances / events, and find ways to evolve.

Solutions Focussed Therapy - your insights into your own experiences are a foundation to realistic choices & autonomy.

Neurodiversity Affirming Practice

Neurodiversity Affirming therapy steers away from seeing the clients neurotype as inherently "bad" or in need of fixing to become neurotypical. It aims for the person to explore their neurodivergent identity and find their own unique strengths. As a development within the social disability movement, it is also a doorway for a client to understand they are part of a community and a culture.

More Than Just Talk

The therapeutic journey gives considerable room for Personal Expression -whether that be through art, music, writing, diverse spiritual practices or finding inspiration in multi-media, gaming or sub/culture affiliation. All of these are part of your identity and can be incorporated in ways that provide validation, a sense of safety and a familiar language for expressing emotions.
